Macro Continuuity Framework for Sasol

Developed Business and IT Service Continuity Management Framework for Sasol a South African based global petrochemical corporation. I was tasked with creating from the ground up incorprating Business Continuity Management and IT Service Continuity Management. The requirement was then to have the suppliers to implement the Macro Continuity Framework as part of the Service Level Agreement with Sasol. Although this was an IT project the the Macro Continuity Framework developed can be implemented by Business as it complies with all international standards and regulations.

Planning, implementing and testing of Disaster Recovery process for National Treasury

Created IT Service Continuity Management policy with alignment to ITIL v3 for the National Treasury which is the critical department within the South African Government. Developed startegy to acquire and commission Generator and UPS systems required for Continuity of all National Treasury Data Centres during power outages, whether through load shedding or any other events that may lead to loss of power. Further actions implemented was developing Backup and Restore policy and acquiring systems that were capable of successfully conducting effective and secure Backup of National Treasury Data Off-site.

Set-up, operating and manging IT unit for Public Investment Corporation

With the dawn of democracy and the consolidation of the Government Employees Pension Fund of the former homelands, Transkei and Republis of South Africa the Public Investment Corporation was tasked by National Treasury to manage the funds. This entity required to be a leader which included IT services. I started by ensuring that the policies were aligned to leading industry standards and regulations by developing policies and strategy to enable IT as a partner and not a espense for the organisation. This transformed me into the IT Manager/Chief Information Officer role withint the organisation. The role was both a business and IT role as I was responsible for the management of the both Busines and IT Risk. Further more I was the Chief Project Manager in negotiating and planning with service providers on all future projects.
