Mohomed Farook Wadiwala

Mohomed Farook Wadiwala is an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) with certifications in ITIL, CoBIT, Cisco, Microsoft and IBM together with a Bachelor's Degree. Mohomed Farook Wadiwala has twenty three years management experience, within an overall career of thirty-one years, ranging from first line management to executive management. His experience ranges from people management at the lower end of the spectrum, through project and resource management to full responsibility and accountability to board management.

He has fifteen years experience in management consulting not only in the IT industry but also many of the economic sectors including strategic industries such as investment management, manufacturing, mining, petroleum, energy, chemical, insurance, retail, telecommunications, outsourcing, human resources and government. The customers he has served include the National Treasury, Public Investment Corporation, Sasol, T-Systems South Africa to mention some.

His specific interest in the past thirteen years has been in the area of business and IT service continuity management. Initially, he was deeply involved in the computer hardware and software support and maintenance, networking and infrastructure, telecommunications and third party application support with backup and restore functions at IBM South Africa for ten years.

In 1998, he developed his idea of business continuity management as a discrete business discipline providing the service in addition to the IT Services offered to his clients. In 2000, he joined Public Investment Corporation as a principal IT Officer. In 2008, he moved to National Treasury as Deputy Director for Service Continuity Management. In 2010, he joined T-Systems as Business IT Continuity services consultant on the Sasol account and developed a unique Macro Continuity Framework incorporating both Business and IT Service Continuity Management disciplines aligned to BCI GPG, ITIL V3 and ISO22301.

Mohomed Farook has mentored many colleagues, friends and family in their studies and business ventures. He has a new vision for his business and is actively working on making this a reality.
